Andrea's NYC Bridal Session

Today I photographed a bridal session in New York City. I was very lucky to have go all around the city with Andrea and take some really great shots. We started at the Brooklyn Bridge, moved on to Grand Central and Central Park. We captured the daily traffic jams in Times Square, and got some photos at the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. One of the coolest finds for a great photo op was the huge LOVE letters in the middle of the sidewalk.

I don't think I have ever walked as much as we did today. Not to mention it was a cool 95 degrees in the city and very, very humid. IT WAS HOT!! That being said, Andrea looked beautiful and was a pleasure to work with. Here are just some of the shots from the day. Enjoy!!

Backyard Shots of Aidan

Since I didn't have any weddings this weekend, Kathleen & I traveled down to New Jersey to get some of our own wedding plans taken care of. While Kathleen & her best friend and matron of honor, also Kathleen, went to get trial hair styles done I got to babysit Kathleen's godson and Kathleen's son Aidan. I know very confusing. Anyway, one of the things I like to do when I baby sit is, surprise, take pictures. Since it is so gorgeous out I thought the backyard at my future inlaws house provided the perfect backdrop. Aidan is 15 months old, here are some of the shots I took.

RJT in Mount Kisco & Greenwich

On Saturday we did a wedding for an awesome couple, Liz & Dave, in Mount Kisco, NY. While we were at Liz's parent's house, Dina (one of the bride's maids) wanted to take a picture of us. I seldom have pictures taken of me at weddings because I am the one taking the pictures. I never thought I would ever see the picture but to my surprise I received an e-mail today from Dina with the picture attached. From left to right in the picture is Dan, Tony and myself. Dan & Tony are 2 of my videographers. My assistant photographer Vicki wasn't in the picture because she was with the groom. Thanks Dina for the great picture!!

While going through the initial sort of the pictures from the day, I found this picture of Dan & Tony hard at work that Vicki took. Tony is intensely capturing the formal photography moments on tape while Dan is looking on as he holds the bride's bouquet. I thought it was a priceless shot. The photography hour took place at Binney Park in Greenwich, CT

Once I finish going through the rest of the pictures, I will post some of my favorites.

3 Weeks Really Makes a Difference

Kathleen & I traveled down to Penn. to see our new neice (well my almost niece) Maura since she was born 3 weeks ago. It is really amazing how fast she is growing and is turning into a beautiful little girl. If you are interested in seeing pictures of her from an hour after she was born you can click here.

An Irish Cathedral

I was going through some folders on my computer when I came across some pictures from our trip over to Ireland last year. Ireland is an incredibly beautiful, romantic and mysterious country that is a photographer's dream. It is also an incredibly beautiful place to get married. In fact Kathleen and I used to joke about how great it would be for us to get married there. There are endless backdrops of rolling hills majestic castles and landscapes that are absolutely breathtaking. Anyways while in Dublin, we went to numerous churches and cathedrals including St Patrick's Cathedral and Christ Church. Below is a picture of Christ Church.

Don & Gary's Civil Union

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Don & Gary's Civil Union in Fairfield. The day was very hot but incredibly beautiful. They started their day with their families at their house followed by an intimate ceremony at The First Congregational Church in downtown Fairfield. After the ceremony Don & Gary had a luncheon at Positanos Ristorante right on the water in Westport. Don & Gary were a great couple and I am thankful that I got to spend their day with them. Here are a few of the pictures from the day. In addition, there are some great car shots of the 1936 Buick that I posted in an earlier post. Click HERE to view them.

A Wedding Album Revised

A couple of months ago I agreed / asked to completely re-design and re-make my fiancé’s parents wedding album for them. They have been married 36 years as of May 9th.

After looking at their wedding album, I noticed that the images have faded considerably losing a lot of the original color. Photo chemicals are just not rated to hold up that long, especially not from pictures that are from that long ago. Today's inks and chemicals are a lot better but even they fade over a long enough period of time. I suggested to my future in-laws, that I first start by scanning and restoring all of original photographs in the album so that they could have a digital backup copy. There are only (18) 10x10 prints in the entire album, which is far different from today’s albums. In addition, my future in-laws found an envelope of pictures in their house (non-professional) from their wedding (photos that the "professional photographer" did not capture) that I am scanning and restoring as well that will be added to the new flush mount album.

As I was just starting to feel like I could really create a nice modern album with the pictures that I now have, I got a call from my fiancé’s mom telling me that her sister found about 60 additional images from their wedding day and that they are going to overnight them to me. The pictures arrived today and I am very excited because I finally feel that now I can successfully tell the story of their day and preserve the memories for another 35 years. I finally understand a lot more of their special day.

This project is a lot of work but it is a project that is incredibly exciting to me. I can't wait to see the finished product and be able to hand over the brand new revised, refreshed, redesigned, and restored wedding album.

Here are a couple of images that arrived today as well as some of the restored originals. Enjoy!!

"Better Days" - Arin & Chris' Engagement Slideshow

Ok, so I got this slideshow put together a lot quicker than I originally thought I would. Nonetheless, I am very happy to have worked with Arin & Chris. I hope the photos show what a fun couple they are. Enjoy!

If you would like would like to watch this slideshow larger, you can click HERE.

Arin & Chris' Day at the Beach

Yesterday I had a great time doing an Engagement Session for Arin & Chris. We started around 10:30am at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. Arin and Chris were a lot of fun to work with and are clearly very in love with each other. They both wanted to do their engagement session at a beach and Lighthouse Point provided a perfect location. Along with the beach there is a lighthouse and a carousel, which provided beautiful and interesting backdrops. Their personalities really show through the pictures. Here are some of my favorites from the day. I will have the slideshow posted later on this week. Enjoy!!

A Cool Car on a Very Hot Day

Today I photographed a civil union for a great couple in Fairfield. As their transportation they got a beautiful, black 1936 Buick. This car was seriously cool and even cooler to photograph. The downside was that since it is such an old car the air conditioning didn't work too well and today was one of the hottest days in a while. Below are some of my favorite shots of the car.

Simply Put... Beautiful

Here are a few shots of my fiancé, Kathleen, which I took recently. We took semi-formal, fun shots on the stairs in our entry way to our place. Kathleen is incredibly beautiful and photographs wonderfully. I always tell everyone that I am the lucky one; these photographs truly prove my point.
