Getting Ready for our Halloween Party

This year we decided to have a Halloween Party with a bunch of our family and friends. We have almost everything done and I thought I would share some of the photos of our decorations, Kathleen did a great job with the classic halloween ideas. Be sure to look out for the Miniature Pumpkin House that my mother-in-law made for us. She is incredible at working with miniatures and the details in this pumpkin house are simply awesome. New 2008 Knot Print Ad

WPD Contest Results

I am very happy to announce that the WPD (Wedding Photography Directory) Contest Results came back and one of my pictures made it into the top 10. This honorable mention placing is very awesome to me especially since there were over 1500 entrees nation wide and then the top 100 were voted on over a 2 month period. There were 52,000 plus votes tallied up. I share this honor with two other CT photographers, Steve Depino and Tommy Martin. Congratulations to both. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Meredith & Reid's Engagement

Today I also got to photograph Meredith & Reid for their engagement session. We spent some time at the Milford Green for a relaxed photo session.

After we finished the engagement session, I took some shots of Meredith & Reid with their awesome bulldog. We actually did this mini-session to benefit the Portrait House. Becky & Jon's Engagement

My very busy but fun weekend continued bright and early this morning for Becky & Jon's engagement session. We went to Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. The water and the sky were incredibly blue without a cloud in sight. It was gorgeous. I had a great time walking around the park taking pictures of Becky & Jon. Here is some of what I shot. Enjoy!!

Sandra & Kevin's Wedding

After what was a crazy roller coaster ride this week weather-wise, this weekend turned out to be absolutely beautiful. Just in time for Sandra & Kevin's wedding. They had a beautiful day. They are originally from the CT area but have been living on the west coast. They came all the way cross-country to get married out here.

Their wedding was in Simsbury and we shot the formal photography at the Old Drake Hill Flower Bridge. They were a fun group, my second shooter Sue and I had an great time capturing their special moments. Here are some of the photos from the day.

Valarie & Patrick's Engagement Session

Today I got to photograph Valarie & Patrick for their engagement session. It has always been very important to me to help make a couple's engagement and wedding very special. One way that I do that is to go on location for their engagement session to the place or places that the couple chooses.

Valarie & Patrick chose to go to Patrick's old high school in Vermont, Vermont Academy. This high school campus is absolutely beautiful and the mix of sun and colorful fall foliage made for a fantastic backdrop for their pictures. It was truly worth the drive. Patrick and Valarie spent their very second date at the academy on the ski jump that they have on the grounds, needless to say this was a very special place to both of them.

I had a great time photographing and getting to know Patrick and Valarie. Here are some of the shots from the day.

Amanda & Brad's Engagement Session

The second engagement session that I had on Sunday brought me to the White Plains area of New York. Amanda & Brad decided to have their engagement photography session at Kensico Dam Plaza. This was truly a unique place, I had such a great time shooting pictures of this great couple. The dam along with the bright blue sky made a really nice back drop although I did keep thinking how much water was behind that massive dam. Towards the end of the session we drove up to the other side and walked down by the lake to get a couple more shots. Here are just some from this session, enjoy!!

Melinda & Erin's Engagement

On Sunday I had the awesome pleasure of working with two different couples for their engagement sessions. October is a beautiful month for photography because of the changing foliage and the beautiful fall tones so it is no wonder that so many couples take advantage of this time.

My first session was with Melinda & Erin who are actually getting married in January. They were looking for a nice location for their engagement session that would bring them into nature. We went to the Cascades in Fairfield where we walked through the woods and by the flowing water. Many people walk their dogs at the Cascades so it was a good thing that both Melinda and Erin are both avid dog (and cat) lovers. After capturing the photos at the Cascades we went over to nearby Lake Mohegan to get a couple more shots. Here are some of the pics from the day.

Arin & Christopher's Wedding

Yesterday was Arin & Christopher's wedding and boy did they have a beautiful day. The weather was gorgeous and the wedding was so nice. My second shooter Vicki spent the day shooting with me and we got some really nice shots.

I worked with Arin & Chris back on their engagement session in June which was incredibly fun. It was really nice to spend their wedding day with them. The wedding ceremony took place at Saint Augustine's Cathedral in Bridgeport and the Reception at the Stone Barn at the Whitney Farms Country Club in Monroe. The reception was certainly a fun party, especially when Arin decided to join in on the limbo. Arin & Chris were so happy and it really shows. Enjoy!!

Monique & Chris' Engagement Session

It has certainly been a very busy weekend, but that being said it has been incredibly fun as well!! I had 3 engagement sessions and one wedding. My first engagement session was on Friday with Monique and Chris. They chose to go to Bushkill Falls in PA for their session. They have spent a lot of time at the falls and it has become a place that is very special to them.

While making the drive out to PA, it rained like I had not seen before. I thought for sure that we were going to have to re-schedule their photo shoot for a drier day. As soon as I got off the exit, like magic the clouds went away and the sun came out. It was great!! I spent a few hours with Monique and Chris hiking the trail that lead us through the falls and catching some great shots of the two of them. We walked or should I say climbed over 1200 stairs. What a workout. It was so great to get to know Monique and Chris better and good to see such a cool place. Here are some of the photos from their day.

Very Cool New Camera

After months of being on back order, I finally received my new camera. It is Canon's brand new flagship camera, the incredibly cool EOS 1D Mark III. The features are incredibly amazing on this camera and quite honestly blow me away. I haven't been able to put it down since I got it. Here are a few shots I took of it today.

Carrie & Matthew's Wedding Day at the Lake

So this weekend has been very busy, but a ton of fun. I had a Marie & Manny's wedding last night in NJ, and today in the morning, I photographed Carrie & Matthew's wedding along with my second shooter, Sue. The wedding was at the Pavilion at Crystal Lake in Middletown. While driving to their wedding the weather was very cloudy and it looked like it was going to rain, but the day turned out to be absoutely beautiful. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Pavilion followed by a great reception. Carrie & Matt have been a great couple to work with, I am so glad to have shared their day with them. Marie & Manny's Wedding

Last night I had the unique pleasure of both attending a wedding as a guest and as the photographer. My wife's friend Marie (from childhood) tied the knot to her now husband Manny. The wedding took place in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Here are some of the pictures from the night.
