Arin & Chris' Day at the Beach

Yesterday I had a great time doing an Engagement Session for Arin & Chris. We started around 10:30am at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. Arin and Chris were a lot of fun to work with and are clearly very in love with each other. They both wanted to do their engagement session at a beach and Lighthouse Point provided a perfect location. Along with the beach there is a lighthouse and a carousel, which provided beautiful and interesting backdrops. Their personalities really show through the pictures. A Cool Car on a Very Hot Day

Today I photographed a civil union for a great couple in Fairfield. As their transportation they got a beautiful, black 1936 Buick. This car was seriously cool and even cooler to photograph. The downside was that since it is such an old car the air conditioning didn't work too well and today was one of the hottest days in a while. Below are some of my favorite shots of the car.

Simply Put... Beautiful

Here are a few shots of my fiancé, Kathleen, which I took recently. We took semi-formal, fun shots on the stairs in our entry way to our place. Kathleen is incredibly beautiful and photographs wonderfully. I always tell everyone that I am the lucky one; these photographs truly prove my point.

Introducing...

Maura Lily! My future brother-in-law and his wife brought this beautiful little girl into the world last Monday, the 21st. My fiancé and I were fortunate enough to make the trip down to PA to be there when she was born. I shot these pictures and about 200 more within an hour of her being born. It is really amazing how the lens picks up more detail then the eye. The thing that is even more amazing is the complete joy a baby brings. Enjoy.

A Classic Connecticut Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing Jen & Ali's wedding on May 27th up in the Hartford, CT area. They were a beautiful and fantastic couple to work with. I wasn't sure how the weather was going to turn out especially since the morning was very cloudy and looked as if it was going to storm at any time. Despite the clouds the day turned out to be perfectly clear and sunny, one of the best weather days in a while.

The ceremony was held at the Chapel at the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury and the Reception at the Hartford Golf Club. I took the formal photography at both the school and on the golf course. Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the day. I will have a more complete slideshow posted here later this week.

RJT Pictures Team

The people I couldn't do it without, this is the RJT Pictures team. I am very fortunate to be able to work with a very talented, funny and overall great group of people. In the photos below (in no particular order): Ryan Farnsworth, Susan Magnano, Anthony Ferro, Joseph Sokoloski, Kathleen Haughey (my fiancé' - soon to be wife!) and me, Robert J. Trenske. Missing from the photos is Daniel Basile.

I have wanted to take a group photo for a while now but it is hard to get everyone together. When we finally did get everyone (at least mostly everyone) we thought it would be fun to do some random timer pictures instead of trying to formally pose. I could have done without the double chin and weird look on my face in the bottom one but that is the price you pay for looking straight down at a camera on the ground. I am much better behind the camera than in front of it. They created some pretty interesting shots. Hope you enjoy.

"Livin' on a Prayer"

When setting up the new blog space, I decided to use a picture from a wedding I did in last October for the blog title picture on the top of the page. John & Laura had their reception at the Goodwin Hotel in Hartford. For those of you who have not been there before, it is a beautiful room, a little challenging to photograph due to lighting. I took the picture of John (the groom) and his wedding party who got more than excited when Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" came on. I think it is a priceless shot, especially with all of the guys wearing the same sunglasses.

Chuck & Erin's Wedding

A friend & former co-worker of mine asked me to photograph his wedding for him. I remember initially meeting with him and his fiancé, Erin, well over a year and a half ago. I can't believe how fast the time flies. Anyways here are some photos from Chuck & Erin's wedding that took place on April 21 at the Crystal Room in Naugatuck. Enjoy.
