Laura & Chris' Wedding

Last night I photographed Laura & Chris' wedding (along with Kathleen who was my assistant and Vicki who was my second shooter). Their wedding was at the Candlewood Lake Inn and despite the weather forecast, it turned out to be a beautiful day. This was my first wedding with my new video light, the new 85 1.2 lens and Kathleen as my assistant. These things combined made capturing the emotion of the day that much nicer! We are off to photograph Deb & Tim's engagement session in Mystic, but first here are some photos that I shot from Laura & Chris' wedding.

Off to Photograph Laura & Chris' Wedding!!

Well it is about 9:30 on Saturday morning and I am getting ready to photograph Laura and Chris' wedding. They are getting married up in Newtown with the reception at Candlewood Lake Inn in Brookfield. I will share photos from their day after we capture it :) but for now here is another photo from their engagement session. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

More photos from the shoot yesterday...

I started going through all of the photos that I shot yesterday and was incredibly happy with the outcome. I experimented a little bit with the editing and am glad that I did because I think they came out really cool. I also through in a shot of just some of my peer photographers who also attended the shoot. The models were so great to work with. The blond model below is Nicole Frechette who is a country singer and a complete natural in front of the camera. The other two girls, Kara and Jaimee, are actually sisters and funny enough my brother knows one of them. What a small world. We also had the opportunity to shoot Justin & Mary at the Uconn Law School Campus, it was a great time!! Nonetheless, here are some more of the photos that I captured. Enjoy!!

Shooting Seminar with Steve & Carla

Today I attended a seminar put on by Carla Ten Eyck & Steve Depino up at Carla's studio in Hartford. It was a great energy packed day. We had the opportunity to shoot some really great models in some challenging locations. I was psyched because I really got to give my new 85 1.2 lens a workout before Laura & Chris' wedding on Saturday. There were about 25 other photographers at this seminar. Kathleen @ 1.2

So since getting my new 85 1.2 yesterday, I couldn't put it down. I have a 30 1.4 and still love that lens but shooting at 1.2 is simply amazing. I shot these 2 quick photos of Kathleen in a very dim room with the lens opened up all the way with only available light. 1.2 is razor thin but so sweet.

New Prime Lens!!

I have been waiting a really long time to get this lens. It is Canon's 85mm F1.2 lens and wow is it a great lens. It came in today, only minutes ago. I can't wait to shoot with it!! This lens is an amazing portrait lens and has GREAT bokeh.

Pool Photos!!

Since posting pictures from the Malibu Wedding that I shot and of one of my brides jumping into the pool, I have had a lot of people asking me to put up some more pool pictures of her. I haven't gone through all of them yet but here are a couple more. I hope you all enjoy!!

Marvin Sunk Band Pics

A little while ago, I got to shoot some photos of Billy & Michael's band, Marvin Sunk. Billy & Michael are my brother-in-laws, their pic is the third one down. They practice weekly at their home studio and are really good. If you are ever in the central NJ area, they play out often. Here are just a few photos.
