I am often asked what kinds of photography other than wedding photography I am involved in. As mentioned in earlier posts I shoot PR photography for my alma mater, Sacred Heart University. I have been very lucky to photograph and meet some very interesting people. I found some photos that I shot from over the last year. In order below are photos of Anthony Rapp from the Original Broadway Cast of "Rent", Tiki Barber from NBC's "Today Show" and the NY Giants, Robin Roberts from ABC's "Good Morning America", The Pussycat Dolls live in concert, and a couple of shots from SHU's undergraduate commencement.

I have also had the opportunity to shoot Dr. Henry Lee, Jack Welch, Dave Chappelle and most recently Bob Woodward, which I just recently posted.

Portraits of Maura
This weekend, Kathleen and I went out to PA to see our 6 month old niece, Maura. It has been a little while since we have seen her and she is certainlly growing up quickly. I got to take pictures of her in a bunch of different outfits including one of her Christmas dresses. She is such a happy and fun baby, here are some of the photos from the weekend.

Thanksgiving Here We Come!!
Thanksgiving is definetly one of our favorite holidays. Kathleen and I decided that since this was our first Thanksgiving together as a married couple, we would host it at our place this year. We will be spending Thanksgiving day with my family and Saturday with Kathleen's family. We have been preparing all night. I am in charge of the Turkey which I am brining overnight this year. My mother-in-law tried that last year for Christmas and I highly recommend it. The only downside is that you need to have a container large enough to completly summarge the turkey and it has to fit in the fridge. I ended up buying one of those styrofoam coolers from Stop & Shop and lined it in plastic. It barley fit our 19 pound turkey and the cooler barely fit in our fridge. We had to take one of the shelves out.
Kathleen has been working hard on making her sausage stuffing with the staple Thanksgiving seasoning, Bell's. In addition she has been making her mom's raisin pie, as you can see below she is on the phone getting the recipe. We will also be having 2 different kinds of apple pie from Silverman Farms in Easton. Yum.
We also started the "brew" which is a recipe of different seasonings that you put in a small crock pot with water that my mother in law came up with to make the house smell wonderfully special during the holidays.
I hope everyone has a great, safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!

New OLD Cameras
So I have been wanting to find some really great old film cameras for a while now. I have kept an eye out on eBay and a couple of other places but nothing has really jumped out and caught my eye. It seems when you don't look for something for a little while it seems to find you.
My wife Kathleen, and her friends on a whim went to an estate sale yesterday in Fairfield. She told me she saw some old camera equipment their but didn't know if it was what I was looking for. After she told me about this, I had to go back with her today. I thought for sure that there wouldn't be anything as it is very rare to find old cameras in good condition.
That being said we walked into the house and right there in the front room I found two very cool cameras in near perfect condition. The first camera is a beautiful Pentax SP1000 with 2 lenses (a 55mm f2.0 and a 135mm f2.8). This camera and the 2 lenses are fully manual. The second camera is a Minolta 7000 also with 2 lenses (a 35-70 and a 100-200). This camera is slightly newer and has some automatic features. Both cameras came with all their original parts and owner manuals. I can't wait to buy some nice black and white film and shoot some cool pictures. Kodak T-Max here I come, maybe a 1600 speed film for that nice B/W grainy feel. I am definitely thankful for Kathleen for finding these cameras.
I think I may bring one of the cameras to weddings with me and shoot a roll or two of film to add an artistic quality. Here are a couple pictures of the cameras. Oh yeah, pay close attention to the Pentax, not only is it fully manual, but there is not a plastic part making up this tank of a camera. Once I take some pictures with both cameras, I will make sure I share some of them. I will of course have to scan them first.

While at the estate sale, Kathleen and I also found this old Polaroid Camera that I got just for fun. I hope I can still find film for it because this would be serious fun to take a couple snapshots with. Take a look!!

Bob Woodward @ SHU
Many of you may know that I shoot PR events for Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. I get to see some really great speakers and cover some very interesting events.
Tonight at Sacred Heart I had the privelage of photographing Bob Woodward from the Washington Post who spoke about his new book, "State of Denial" in which he talks in detail about the Bush Administration. Bob Woodward was of course one of the two reporters who broke the story about the Nixon Watergate Scandal in the 70s.
Here are some of the pictures from his talk.

Spending Time with Aidan
So tonight Kathleen & I get to watch Aidan (Kathleen's Godson) for the night at our place. Aidan is now about 20 months old and was our ring bearer in our wedding, he was so incredibly cute in his little tux.
Anyways, here are some pictures I took of him tonight while the three of us were watching Ratatouille. (By the way if you haven't seen Ratatouille yet, it is great. I love Pixar movies and this one is easily one of their best). We are probably taking Aidan to the park tomorrow morning if the weather is good, if so I am sure I will have a couple more pictures to post. Enjoy!!

UPDATE:
So we ended up bringing Aidan to the Fairfield Green this morning to play with the leaves. It was a little cold and he was a little bored so we didn't stay too long. Here is a picture from this morning. I hope everyone has a great Sunday!!

Lauren & Todd's Wedding
Yesterday my second shooter Sue and I photographed Lauren & Todd's Wedding. Lauren and Todd are a very cool couple. They had some crazy weather but that did not stop them from having a ton of fun and battling the wind for some great pictures. Their wedding was in Bethel followed by a beautiful reception at the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield. Here are some of the shots from the day.
