Website Back Up!!

My website is back up. It continues to be a little slower than normal. The kinks are working out. Thank you all for your patience.

Website Down

I just wanted to let everyone know that my main website went down at about 9:30am this morning. My hosting company has told me that it is going to be at least another 3 hours. I really apologize for the inconvenience. If you would like to view an event, my event sites have not been affected. You can go directly to http://www.collages.net and enter your username and password to view your event.

I will keep everyone posted once the site goes back up. Again I sincerely apologize.

Andrea's Coffee Table Book

I recently designed a Coffee Table Book from Andrea's Bridal Session from back in June and I am incredibly happy that it just came in. The book is a 10x10 hard cover book complete with a book jacket and custom stamped case. The pages are glossy (also available in matte) and the case is black which is also available in red. These make great gifts or keepsakes. Take a look!!

"This World With You"

In my last post I mentioned that the groom (Dave Dietrich) from the wedding I did on Friday wrote a song for Christie, his bride. The song's name is "This World With You". The song in simply amazing and to me really captures in music the emotions of a wedding. Dave is more than talented, his voice is incredible, his lyrics poetic and his music simply awesome. I liked the song so much that I asked him if I could feature it on my website and he very graciously agreed. I am so thankful to Dave for allowing me to use this song. Please go to my website (http://www.RJTPictures.com) and take a listen. Also check out the post below to see some of the pictures from Dave & Christie's wedding day.

What is even cooler about this story is that Dave and I actually went to high school together in Naugatuck. He was a class ahead of me but I remember even then his passion for singing. Naugatuck had an great music program and I remember Dave always being one of the best. What a small world it is that we live in.

Thank you again to Dave, and thank you to both Dave & Christie for allowing me to photograph your day. You rock!!

Dave & Christie's Wedding

Yesterday I got to photograph Dave & Christie's Wedding which was held at the Aqua Turf Club in the Southington area. Dave & Christie were incredibly relaxed and laid back during the entire day and really had a great time. While Christie was getting ready in her hotel room Dave sent one of his groom's men to deliver a CD of a song that he wrote and recorded for Christie on their wedding day. They later danced to this song during their reception. It was such a beautiful and emotional song. Dave is an incredible singer / songwriter and I am sure we will all hear great music from him sometime soon.

The weather was a bit temperamental yesterday but despite the couple moments of rain, we were able to get some great shots. Here are just a few from the day.

Another Album!!

This time of year is incredibly busy because there are so many weddings, engagement sessions and bridal sessions going on. And all of these events mean that a lot of albums need to be designed. I love the whole album process (designing, printing, proofing, etc) except for one part, the time it takes for the book to be bound. I really don't like having to wait. That being said it makes it that much sweeter when they finally do come in.

I just received the album that I designed for Andrea & Devin's Wedding. There book is a beautiful ebony leather 12x12 album with a full bleed etched metal cover. It has 25 spreads or 50 sides, so this is one fully featured book.

I design flush mount albums and offer a ton of different options in order to customize albums for each individual couple. Flush mount albums allow me to design panoramic spreads, add text such as song lyrics or sayings, and many other artistic elements that just aren't as possible in traditional matted albums. Here are a couple shots of the album that came in today. I have 5 more albums that I am waiting to come in and more to go out soon so I will share more when they arrive.

A Day at the Beach - Carolina & Angelo's Engagement Session

I just spent some time with Carolina & Angelo to photograph their engagement session. They wanted a beach location that wasn't the typical every day beach. They decided to take my suggestion and have their engagement photographs taken at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. The day was beautiful and the the best part was that it was low tide when we went, which really added to the details of the pictures. Here are some of the shots that I took. Enjoy!!
