Tonia & Nick's Engagement Session
Today I had the awesome pleasure of photographing Tonia & Nick's Engagement Session. They chose to do their session at Cranbury Park in Norwalk and the grounds of the Westport Library which is where they got engaged. Although a little warm, I had a great time with them. Here are just some of the shots of the day. Enjoy!!

Kambara = Awesome
I just got an album that I designed for one of my clients who got married in December. I am very excited for this album because it is the first time I used this company. The album company is Kambara USA and I actually found out about them while I was out at the WPPI convention in Las Vegas back in March. They have so many cool things you can do with albums including choosing a etched metal cover as I did for this one.
Everyone over at Kambara has been amazing. They are so helpful, friendly and prompt. I will be using them for all of my albums!!

Caught in the Act
While going through the pictures from this weekend’s weddings, I found some shots of the RJT Pictures team at work. This past Friday, for Camila and Kevin’s wedding, we had a four-person crew, comprised of me and my photography assistant, Sue, and two videographers, Ryan and Tony. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the work that goes on behind the lens.
Sue took this picture of Ryan and I looking focused while capturing the bride and groom’s wedding bands.
Here is the how the actual shot came out. (below)
In this one I am taking a group shot of the bridal party in the Chapel and Fairfield University, while Tony looks on.
Here’s Ryan again, this one I took while we were getting some exterior shots of the bride’s house before the ceremony.
You can see some of photos from the formal photography session that I took at Great River Golf Club in Milford by clicking here. ENJOY!!

Par for the Course - Camila & Kevin's Wedding
We just got back from another great wedding. The weather became very interesting right when we were about to do the formal photography but once the storm passed it was absolutely beautiful. The reception and the formals for that matter were at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT.
Camila and Kevin were great to work with. Even after it had just rained, both were more than willing to walk in the tall wet grass and Camila even volunteered to lay on the ground in her wedding dress! They are a beautiful couple and it really shows.
Here are some of the shots of Camila and Kevin.

Getting Ready for a Weekend of Weddings!!
It was good to have a day off for the holiday yesterday, but I am looking forward to the two weddings that we have this weekend. The first is tomorrow at Fairfield University with the reception at the Great River Golf Club in Milford and the second is on Saturday in Darien.
For those of you who do not know what goes into capturing a wedding, I will share a glimpse. Below is a picture of just some of the photography equipment that I use. I am very much a Canon person although I very much respect photographers who use Nikon (or any other equipment for that matter). I personally like Canon for many reasons but do not judge a photographer based on the the company that makes their photography gear. Anyways, my basic lens line up is the Canon 70-200 L2.8 IS, Canon 24-70 L2.8, Canon 10-22 (for some cool wide shots) and a Sigma 30. 1.4. I also carry 2 Canon bodies with me. I hope to be upgrading to the Canon 1D Mark III soon, if it ever comes off of backorder. I think I check B&H everyday. Also part of my equipment bag are numerous Canon batteries, a Canon 580EX Flash, 2 Canon backup flashes, 4gb compact flash cards, and Energizer Lithium AA Batteries for the flashes (and for backup in the cameras, should I need it). I also carry flash card readers, a laptop, some lens cloths and of course business cards (everyone always asks).
I used a Sony Cybershot to take this picture. It is fun to use a "point and shoot" every now and then. I will share some pictures from this weekend in a few days. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

One of the Reasons I do what I do
I came across a blog of one of the bride's maids at a recent wedding that my team and I did. I was extremely happy to find two posts that she made about the work we did at her friend's wedding. Here is what she had to say:
Post One"I went to a wedding this weekend where it was quite evident that the photographer loved his job, and the deejay did not.
How could I tell this was the case? The photographer and his crew showed up early. He was pleasant, polite, and took great care in his work. If the sun was in the wrong spot, he moved the subject(s) to a different location. If the bride had an idea for a creative shot, he did his best to capture the moment to her liking. At the wedding reception, he was present for all the action, yet "invisible" to the partygoers. All of these details showed that he loved what he did for a living. I know that my friend's wedding day photos will turn out fabulous."
Post Two"In my previous post, I'm sending kudos to the wedding photographer I had the pleasure of posing for last weekend. His website is http://rjtpictures.com, his name is Rob and I highly recommend him. I think he and his team will even travel if you're doing a Bahamas wedding or something like that.
Well, what do you know, I just visited his blog. It's just as I suspected. The photos of my friend Liz's wedding came out gorgeous!
Here I am thinking I'm all tricky with my fancy newfangled digital camera, and then this guy comes along and blows me away with his talent. WOW. I am REALLY impressed. I figured he'd do a good job, but my mind could not even fathom how spectacular this is.
I do what I can with Dreamweaver Fireworks (this is my black and white "art")... but still it does not compare to what the professionals can capture on film... ;)
Thanks, Rob, Dan, Tony and Vicki for your fine work. I'm getting such a kick out of looking at these photos you took. I would post one of your shots on my blog, but really I think you own the moment. :)"
Thank you Dina for your incredibly kind words. We had a great time at Liz & Dave's Wedding. Photography is truly a passion for me and I am very lucky to work with a great team of people. I am so glad that our passion shows through the photography and throughout our work. I am very honored to be able to share in couple's special day and to capture the day so they can remember it forever.
Here is a group shot of the girls (and Dave) at this wedding that I thought was fun. Dina is the one on the far right. If you would like to view Dina's blog where you can read the full posts you can click here.
